Donors & Volunteers
Thanks to our volunteers and special donors

The Deep Well Project is a grass-roots organization, primarily staffed by hard-working and gifted volunteers. Deep Well volunteers donated 22,300 hours of their most precious gift… their TIME… in 2025.
Volunteers help staff our office and pantry five days per week, make food deliveries, do repair work on clients’ homes to keep them “livable,” schedule donated furniture pick-ups weekly, blow off the parking lot, and most importantly, help set strategy for the organization and research new initiatives to help the community. Within the Circles program there is also a wide variety of "jobs" for volunteers—being an intentional friend or Ally, using your closet caterer skills for the weekly, sit-down meal for about 70 people, or jumping into the Big View team to tackle systemic and structural challenges that are barriers for local families.
Our volunteers come from all walks of life: banking, hospitality, government, carpentry, law, retail, plus a few flight attendants, homemakers and probably a candle-stick maker!
Deep Well’s donor base is just as varied as our volunteers. We rely exclusively on funding from private individuals, businesses, service organizations and charitable grants and foundations. Our major fundraising time is during the holidays, and that campaign usually raises 35-50% of the operating funds we need for the next year. Here’s a partial list of some of our special grant partners who supported us in 2025, on whom we count on for the balance of our operational needs:

Deep Well thanks all our wonderful donors for your gifts of time, food, toys and checks. It’s remarkable how generous the community is when it comes to reaching out and helping those less fortunate.
From the donor who drops off a box of cereal for the pantry to the donor who has the means to write a large check—ALL gifts are so precious and valued. Our most treasured gift is when a former client stops by to make a donation because they’re now in a better, more secure place and they want to 'pay it forward.'
The power of self-sufficiency is the greatest gift Deep Well can offer to our clients.
- Executive Director, Sandy Gillis
