There are many ways to contribute—all vital to Deep Well's mission.
It's important to note that in 2012, Deep Well was designated as an Angel Charity by the state
of South Carolina, because over 94% of all funds received are awarded in the form of food,
clothing, school supplies, Christmas toys or rent, utilities, prescriptions or other similar payments
on behalf of qualified, needy clients.
This level of efficiency was in place before 2012 and continues today.
Every donated dollar,
gently used chair, or box of cereal
makes a difference.
The Hilton Head Island Deep Well Project is a tax-exempt, non-profit organization that depends solely on the generosity of individual donors, churches, civic and service organizations, plus grants from local and regional funders like the United Way of the Lowcountry, the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, Coastal Carolina Foundation, and other area foundations.

Your monetary contribution will help fill our pantry shelves, provide a needed rent payment, help fund our Circles program, replace a rotted porch…and so much more! Our goal is to help stabilize lives and encourage our neighbors to be self-sufficient.

For monetary donations over $1000:
If you're considering making a donation of $1000 or more to Deep Well, a 20% boost is added to your contribution if donated through Champions Fore Charity! It's a wonderful way to add value to your already generous donation.
The program runs January 1 — December 1, 2025.

Matching Gifts
Many major corporations have extensive matching gifts programs and that can often double the value of your contribution. If you are a retiree from one of these companies, you may qualify to participate in their matching gifts program—a great way to dramatically extend the value of any contribution you make to Deep Well. All donations made to Deep Well are tax deductible. We are a registered non-profit organization complying with the requirements of section 501(C)3 of the U.S. Federal Income Tax Code. As a result, a donation made to us may be deducted from your income taxes as an itemized deduction.

Bequests
Bequests, which are gifts granted by a will, trust, or beneficiary designation, are a common way for people to plan their legacies.
In addition to the personal satisfaction you can derive from a philanthropic bequest, you may save estate taxes, depending on the size of your estate.
A bequest allows you to plan a future gift while you keep control of your assets during your lifetime. And, if your circumstances or priorities change, you can change your bequest — it's revocable. You might wish to express your bequest as a percentage of your estate rather than a specific dollar amount, thereby protecting your primary beneficiaries in the event of a reduction in the size of your estate.
You could also consider making Deep Well a beneficiary of your tax-deferred retirement plan.
Furniture and Appliance Donations
Deep Well gratefully accepts gently used furniture (no torn or soiled upholstery) and working appliances from resident donors on Hilton Head for our Furniture Closet.
If you can, please bring your items to Deep Well. If that's not possible, our Deep Well truck goes out once a week to pick up large donated items. Feel free to call our office to arrange a pick-up.
BEFORE YOU CALL, please click below to review our full list of what items we can use, and what types of items we cannot accept.
