How we serve our community

Most services are for residents of Hilton Head Island
unless otherwise noted.

Basic Needs

Rent and Mortgage Assistance: Available for residents of Hilton Head Island and Jasper County, maximum help once per year.
Utility Assistance (Electric, Propane, Water, Sewer): Maximum once per year, per utility type.
Livable Housing/Home Repairs: Deep Well provides repairs to make a home safe and liveable, for owner-occupied homes only. Available to clients who live on Hilton Head, as well as residents of Jasper and Beaufort Counties within our service area.
Food Pantry: Residents of Hilton Head Island may make an appointment for food.

Medical/Dental Needs

Deep Well provides referrals to qualified providers for the following:

Eyeglasses: Med-i-Assist will provide eye exams and glasses to eligible residents of Jasper and Beaufort Counties.
Medical/Dental: Available to residents of Jasper and Beaufort Counties, via referrals to VIM or Beaufort-Jasper Hampton Comprehensive Health Services.
Prescriptions: Med-i-Assist or Deep Well can provide occasional assistance with non-opioid, critical-need prescriptions only.

Other Services

Children’s Assistance: School uniforms and supplies (available July-Sept), daycare tuition assistance, diapers/wipes, holiday meals and Santa Shop.
Clothing: Vouchers are available for free clothing at St. Francis Thrift or Bargain Box thrift stores.
Furniture & Appliances: Furniture and appliances are available for pick up with an approved furniture voucher. Appliances are for Hilton Head Island residents only.
Shower/Washing Machine/Dryer: Our facilities at Deep Well are available for use by those clients who do not have a home. Towels, toiletries, and detergent are provided.
Transportation: Taxi Ride or Gas Cards are available for doctor appointments only.
